Picture post

Not a whole lot has been going on, but somehow I have a lot of pictures of us doing a whole lot of nothing? So I'll just post a bunch. That's what everyone really looks at blogs for. Let's be honest.
This last Sunday was my birthday, and it made me start to think...When I was younger, I was always so excited about getting breakfast in bed, having my family wake me up by coming into my room singing "Happy Birthday", getting to choose what we had for dinner that night, getting to choose what kind of cake or pie I wanted, having a little family party that evening to open my presents and blow out candles...But this year, do you know what I was most excited about?? Trenton changed all of Jackson's diapers that day, and I LOVED it! My, oh my, how my priorities in life have changed over the years!
Trenton and I went out to dinner and a movie Saturday night while one of our friends watched Jackson. With being college students and having movie tickets TRIPLE in price lately, we always look online to find different kinds of deals. This year we were able to go to a full price movie and dinner for both mine and Trenton's birthday earlier this year, all FOR FREE! Thank you Brittany Talbot for your ability to find free movie tickets.
On Sunday, Trenton and I made a complete disaster of our kitchen and made an apple pie. Trenton insisted that we put candles on it, and Jackson helped me blow them out.

We all had a bit of a cold that weekend, so we all look amazing and wore what we call "comfy" clothes.

Jackson always has some awesome "bed hair" when he gets up from his naps.

Sometimes Jackson gets a little bored and stir crazy, and I've finally figured out a way to give him something to do. All I have to do is pull out the camera, and he'll start to perform and smile and chase me all around the room. It occupies him forever. So I just take pictures as he chases me around.
He always tries to find a way up on the couch, no matter what he has to step on to get up there.

He's a walking machine lately. It's almost like one day it just clicked to him that there's a better way to get from point A to point B than crawling.

Jackson just needs to get his teeth in. He literally will chew on anything and anyone.

We finally had a warmer day here in Rexburg, so I pulled the stroller out and left it in the kitchen while I ran upstairs to get Jackson a hoodie to go on a walk. By the time I came back down, he had pulled the stroller through the hall towards the front door. He was so ready to go outside. He bangs on the window everyday, but it's just been too cold and windy to go out.

Jackson loved his first walk of the season outside. He just looked around everywhere the whole time.

We had chicken drumsticks for dinner, and Trenton wanted to see what Jackson would do with one. He usually devours anything you put in front of him, especially if he thinks you're going to take it away. But he had no idea what to do with something like this.

He held onto it so delicately.

  1. Ahhh, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! Bummer about the colds (blegh - I just barely got over my 2-week-long one... they're the worst!)... but it looks like you still had a great time! Comfy clothes + candle-lit apple pie?? What could be better?! I love all the pictures :) :)

By the way, you were in my dream the other night! I think you were randomly in front of me at a movie or something... haha. I miss you! It'd be fun to see you soon :)
